Gelid Tranquillo Cooler

Has anyone installed one of these things? I tried to find installation videos on youtube, but there were non. This is my first time installing a heatsink / cooler, as my friend build my computer for me.

There are plenty of vids for the A50 and 212+. Is the installation similar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fit it with the fan blowing towards the rear of the case if you have an extraction fan there.

Many thanks mate. I think the large fan that is on the side of my case is extracting though

Pretty easy if you follow the guide in the link. The two more difficult bits for me was screwing down one of the screws as a case far was in the way (and I was too lazy to take things apart) and putting the fan clips on - they were bloody annoying.

I just bought this cooler, can you confirm, does is come with the paste pre applied??

No, but it does come supplied with some separately.

The kit comes with heatpipe based cooler, fan, mounting brackets and GC2 TIM (thermal interface material).

The most difficult part of the installation is attaching the fan clips, which are extremely stiff. It is advisable to do this while the motherboard is out of the case. Also, look out for rev 2 which shifts the cooler a bit further back from the memory slots.
