Decades have passed since war erupted between the United Space Federation and the Alliance of Free Worlds.
A bloody conflict that seemed to have reached a stalemate is now about to change, when a third faction suddenly appears.
Take control of a fleet commander returned from exile, and join an epic war across the stars.

- Epic single player campaign.
- Ability to control fleets of starships, space stations and planets.

- Unique gameplay providing a refreshing twist to the RTS genre.

Gameplay:
In Gemini Wars, you are a fleet commander rising through the ranks of the United Space Federation forces.

Today another space strategy game was finished and is now available for pre-purchasing for Windows and Mac. Gemini Wars is a space RTS where you can command your spaceships by selecting them to move and attack targets in real-time. But, Gemini Wars also promises to offer some other interesting features like ground-assault invasions, research and space stations construction.
The game will release on the 8th of June but is already available for pre-ordering in several channels. You can pre-order for Windows through Iceberg Interactive’s shop, Gamestop/Impulse, GamersGate or through Camel 101 (dev) website

Contrary to other similar space strategy games on the market, Camel 101 has focused its efforts on a story-driven campaign. So, instead of going with a bunch of unrelated scenarios, or a sand-box mode, Gemini Wars will offer a story-driven single player campaign with dialog and cut-scenes. This was a great bet in my opinion because cut-scene campaigns are surely lacking in space strategy games these days, where usually sand-box is king. You have to get back to the Homeworld series (almost 10 years ago) to see something like that.

Game is released TOMORROW! and you can purchase it from Amazon.co.uk, Gamersgate, Impulse and play.com so far.

Reviews actually are in as well giving it 4/5 etc looks good! Priced at between £17.99 - £21.

I really should’ve read further into the comments before I hit buy. In addition to all the comments about the clumsy camera and the extremely primitive game play, the resolutions are disappointingly restrictive (I can’t be the only one with a monitor larger than 1900×1200), the audio is tinny and very poor and their volume controls are only partially effective. This isn’t worth the price of admission I’m afraid.
* Camera is awkward. No real reason to change camera angle, pan/zoom lacks refinement.
* Ship movement looks like an RTS from the 90s. They are moving or not… no accel/decel, pathing is poor, and they stutter when near eachother.
* Graphics are okay… but way too dark. I feel like I don’t get to have a good look at my units. Engine glows way too bright. Engine trails are as basic as they get.
* Ship designs are cool.. but again, not much chance to appreciate them.
* UI is simple enough. No trouble figuring out what I need to do.
* Missions are pretty exciting. I’m very disappointed that campaign is the only mode available (DLC is vapor until it actually happens — we’ll see).
* Combat is pretty boring: 1) Move ships to badguys, 2) Slog away at bad guys, 3) Boom.

Must admit it's pretty boring even on the first mission, there is no speed up option so you can tell how long it takes just to watch ships crawl across a vast space.

Think i'll uninstall this one!

Oh and I had bad vibes just from the Tutorial, the voices... too dark and " Yes commander " " well done commander "

Just for info.

They plan to add 'skirmish' in July as they work through some of the bug that people have provided. Generally people are complaining more about the difficulty of the game instead of other aspects (can see that on their forums). I've played upto mission 12 now and you only just unlock all the ship's by that level. There is indeed a lot of strat involved in this game with holding astroid fields to knowing where to launch your attacks.

There is 100% room for improvement and thats why they have encouraged people to provide solid feedback for them to consider with a patch quoted as due this week.

Still it has a ringing tone of Sins of a Solar Empire but with an actual decent single player campaign (yes it does get better).

Just to add to the combat element. You can target ship subsections to disable and then board them i.e Battleships and Cruisers :).
