I have a pair of mirrored 3TB drives, I have a 200gb boot partition, is there a way to create a 2.8tb (the rest of the drive) partition?

Best I can think of is reinstall OS on a smaller drive pair and then ill be able to create the 3tb partition?

Make sure the drive partition format is GPT rather than MBR, otherwise you will be limited to 2.2TB.

Hi guys, silly questions here but i put a 3TB drive in my Gen 8 home media server yesterday, turned it on and it doesn't show up in Windows. After reading i see i need the drive to be in GPT format to use 3TB.

Ideally i would like a 2TB and a 1TB partition on this drive.

Is there a way i can format this drive and get it working over remote destktop? i dont have a monitor at home at the moment so cant even see if the HDD is detected in BIOS.

The disc doesn't show in disc management.

Could any one point me to a guide of how to format this drive and how to get it work?

Thankyou

Oh i never tired that, I just had a look and this is all it gives me. So it hasn't been detected.
