Hello all,

First time poster long timer lurker. I have built 2 rigs in the past but my current one is giving me a lot of problems and is a bit dated at the moment so I am thinking about some upgrades and I wanted to know what your opinions are

Firstly I am currently running the following

AMD Phenom II X4 965 quad core CPU water cooled by the Corsair H100i (not needed i know)
ASUSTek M5a88-M outdated board that I will be ditching
Some oldish G Skill DDR3 ripjaws (2x4GB)
Really early Crucial SSD only 60GB (that was the only size at the time i think)
1TB seagate hardrive
And 2 AMD HD7790's

I am looking for some upgrade for around £900 I don't mind if its slightly over. I want to eventually build a custom watercooled rig but this will do for this month

I already own a Corsair Vengeance C70 (still in box) and a Superflower 850w Leadex gold

I was thinking of the following but let me know if there are things I am better upgrading or even better parts than I am thinking

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-050-IN
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-000-OG
with the following options
Kingston HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black/Gold (HX21C11BGK2/16-OC)
Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM
and lastly http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-341-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752

I have all peripherals and moniters etc.

Thank you all in advance

Thanks RJC

I was a bit worried about the board and the CPU as I wasn't sure they were the best options for the price range, I am looking for a gaming pc not anything for designing etc

Ok guys I have switched out a few bits so I would have the following

Asus X99-Deluxe Intel X99 DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Powercolor Radeon R9 290 4096mb GDDR5 (with a free 8GB RAM)
Intel Core i7-4790 4.00 GHz (Devils Canton)
Intel 730k "Jackson Ridge" 240GB SSD

Was my original idea any better? Just wondering as this GPU gives the free RAM and also I don't need the CPU cooler as I already have the H100i

Thanks again

keep your case, psu, hdd (and optical drive)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK - Devil's Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£35 Saving** £356.98
1 x Powercolor Radeon R9 290 PCS+ OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE 8GB 2400MHz Memory Kit £293.99
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £79.99
1 x Corsair Hydro H100 CPU Cooler *Manufacturer Refurbished Unit - 1 Year Warranty £39.95
Total : £780.50 (includes shipping : £8.00).

the gpu comes with a set of 2x4gb ram @ 2400mhz and fits with the colour scheme (all black). 8gb ram is good enough for gaming. 16gb is only needed if you do ram intensive stuff like video editing etc
and it's all under budget so there you go ;p

You Tamzzy are a life saver, already got the H100i so its even cheaper than I originally thought.

Thanks for your help just gonna order the lot
