Yo guys, I did a search but couldn't really find anything, so wanted some advice.

Firstly, my PC is by no means dusty, but there is dust buildup in some parts - the CPU Heatsink, intake fan, bottom of case etc. What's the best way of removing this - compressed air? Anything I should be wary of when doing it?

Secondly, my TFT monitor has a couple of smudges on it, that are noticeable when playing "dark" games like BF2142 etc. What's the best way of removing these - screen wipes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Best way to remove dust is to lick it off. Sounds crazy I know, but it works!

The same technique also works to clean a TFT, although be sure to use gentle circular motions with your tongue.

Post video of your cleaning technique so we can critique it.

I take the whole PC chassis outside during the day and use a 4" Painters brush to dislodge the lumps of funk and lots of breath to blow it all out the case. Cans of compressed air are handy for some hard to reach places but need to be used lightly due to the cost ££.

Basically a good blow out should do the trick, be careful not to knock anything when you use the brush and generally keep blowing till all the dust has gone!

I've got a DELL TFT that I kept clean for 2 years nearly. I don't ever use any products, just an old 'soft' t-shirt and clean tap water. I found its better to turn off the TFT and give it a few mins to cool down before cleaning it, otherwise you get smudge marks. For any greasy fingerprints or similar I just use a blast of hot breath and a clean bit of cloth.

i sellotaped a straw onto the end on a hover. It can get inbetween the fan blades and get the dust outa the cpu heatsink and other hard-to-reach places.
This is most likely a very bad thing to put inside your pc, but hell, it still works and its dust-free :D
