Is it just me or has this seemed to have gone downhill somewhat recently?

This isn't a shout out to the grammar nazi's to come charging in and pedantically correct every word (I know my spelling certainly isn't perfect) but more and more often I have been seeing "text" speak posts and other variations on this theme where I have to spend half my time working out just what the heck they are trying to say. It really, really annoys me, if you can't be bothered to post legibly why bother at all.

Anyone else noticed this recently and does anyone else care apart from me? :p
 
I thought this a week or two ago but Ace Modder put me right when he joked it's the sections I/You frequent.
He was right as I've no intention of upgrading I have stopped reading so much in GH, I've also been doing a lot of typing on my PC so when I browse these days I just look for casual banter.
So it's not the boards it's You/Me. :p
 
It used to be when the schools were on holiday but now all the school tards have grown up and become University tards which go on holiday earlier and for longer.

True story.
 
GD has been terrible for a while now.

There are still some fantastic sub forums though. I only read GD out of habit.
 
I'd be more concerned with the quality of the content rather than just the spelling or grammar of posts.......

Also if someone feels the need to use 'text speak' then I feel the need to ignore them. It is almost certain that their contribution doesn't amount to much anyway.

'text Speak' is the product of a lazy mind.

I generally ignore the text speak replies for that exact reason......I dont want to decipher rubbish! Its the general pish some folk write.......current leader on that front is the welsh numpty :rolleyes:
 
I don't really think it is that bad, spelling and grammar is actually fairly decent here. People who I know in real life are much worse than GD, also student forums are absolutely stinking terrible for post quality.
Head over to TSR if you don't believe me, go into the relationships section and then tell me that GD is bad. We have a couple of bad fish, I used to frequent TSR which is made up of hundreds of bigoted little whining teenagers.
 
Is it only a week since the last one of these threads. People always bang on about it being better way back in the day. You joined in 2009, guess what it was better in 2008.

Not happy with the quality, try raising it yourself instead of moaning about it like a grumpy old man :p

It's like fighting the tide more often then not.
 
The only person who particularly bothers me is Glaucus as I assume he is using an iPad or something but so often the words are just completely wrong and it makes it a chore to read through his posts, which is annoying as the content is normally good once you're past that :p

This, spelling and grammar rarely annoys me, unless it makes it hard to understand.

The content has been somewhat wtf at times.

I guess that's how GD rolls.

5 mins on there and I want Britboy back....

Either way its christmas and more people have free time/resent the cold so trolling the internet goes up, probably a graph to make
