General Purpose Printer for under £50?

Hey guys,

My Dad’s Epson C46 has just given up its fight for life, and seeing as though its 18 months old – out of warranty, been used with non-genuine inks from day 1 AND it only cost us £35 in the first place, we’ve decided that it is not worth repairing :D

What can you recommend?

Basically he wants a cheap printer for text and the odd photo (He’s not expecting high quality!) that uses cheap (Non-genuine?) consumables.

The £50 startup cost is just a guideline really, he just wants to avoid going into the £80-£90+ range.

Any ideas ;)

Can anyone vouch for the Epson D78 - it looks like it's quite new, so not many compatibles about yet :(

But in time there will be I'm sure!

Anyone know where I could find some reviews of this model?

I can't really find the same quality, for the same price, so I think I'm going to get him the D78 :)

Unless anyone else has anything to say?
