Hi guys,

I'm building a computer for someone I know in a SG-05B at the weekend, she wants a small but capable computer to last her a few years.

Anyway I've come up with:

i5 750 (it's on special offer at the moment and cheaper than many of the i5 dualies).
Intel "Jet Geyser" mobo - she's not interested in overclocking and Intel boards are pretty solid (also on special offer).
4GB of whatever RAM is a good deal.
ATI HD5670 - she currently wants to play Sims 3 and Spore but who knows what in the future but never a bleeding edge FPS.
Hard drive - a 640Gb WD Black that I have but have never used.

Not 100% sure on monitor, we're going to sit down together and she will choose one she thinks looks nice and I'll find out if it's actually any good, probably around 22", she wanted smaller but as she often works with spreadsheets I talked her around to getting a bigger one and we settled on 22" as a compromise. So res will be 1920x1080 or 1680x1050.

Any improvements? bearing in mind to keep suggestions to general models as we're getting it from a shop over here and availability of specific models may be different than OcUK/UK :)

If my new compact camera comes by the weekend I'll even do a short build log, nothing in depth as it's hardly that exciting ;)

benq g2222HDL is a good monitor, around £120, looks good, and is cheap for what you get, 1920*1080.

have you got a PSU yet?
I've never heard of that mobo, just got myself a h55itx from gigabyte, arrived today, so will be building on it this weekend. Can let you know what is like after, I am pairing it with an i3 530 for starters, for a little WHS style build/playbox.

5670 is fine, 5770 is much much better, draws a few more watts, and costs a bit more, but for the games you are playing won't make too much of a difference.

Hey HK, the BenQ was exactly the monitor I was looking at, it looks pretty good for not much money.
The SG-05 comes with a PSU so everything is golden in that area, it's 300W but should be plenty.
Also good to get some confirmation on the graphics card, I'm a bit out of touch with the mid-lower range cards and was the main reason I wanted some feedback here.
It looks like I won't be building it until Mon/Tues now as the SG-05 was out of stock most places here and the only place that had one could only deliver it by then, oh well. I'll keep this thread updated.
Thanks! :)
