General Question about Frame per second (FPS)

I'm looking optimize my graphic card and CPU to get the best FPS

Here an example

Hardware

Processor - I7 7700K Overclocked to 4.6gb
Graphic Card - NVidia 1080 Founder
Memory - Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB)
Motherboard - Kaby Lake Asus

Game I'm playing is Black Desert on a 28in 3840x2160 resolution. My FPS is between 20-30 max setting.

This seems a bit low for the hardware I have.

Any advise will be helpful

install monitoring software like Msi afterburner, enable in game overlay and check gpu usage it should be 100% in game if not its not being utilised for some reason either throttling or bottleneck although the latter is unlikely with that cpu

also check another game for same symptoms

I've also heard that the FPS could be due to the monitor resolution I'm using.

Turn off Anti Alias or use 2x as you dont need it at 2160p resolution that will improve frame rates slightly.
Use MSI afterburner to o/c GPU eg add 100mhz as a start to GPU core.
frame rates you are getting are to be expected with a 1080.
