Hey Guys,

2 years ago i bought the ForceBox Gamer Plus" Intel Core i5 4670 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Quad Core Nvidia GTX Special Edition Gaming PC system. I'm a 1080p gamer, so don't really look for major support beyond that (though future proof is always nice, as i am looking at a 1440p monitor lol)

I'm considering some upgrades and want to know if the following are both worth getting, and actually easy/possible to install in my system:

Currently have 8GB of ram want to upgrade to 16, looking at the Vulcan GOLD 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Currently running a Nvidia 770 4GB, not sure whether to get an RX 480 or save for an extra couple of months and get a NVidia 1060

Currently have a 2tb Mechanical HDD, want to replace that with a 500GB SSD purely for OS and Games, and a 2tb SSHD for my general files.

Memory: £65
AMD GFX: £269
Nvidia GFX: £239
SSD: £150
SSHD: £83

So, i'm leaning towards NVidia for the GFX card because it's a mini one, which will fit well in the case. I'm not sure that the AMD one will fit in the case. Also the next monitor i'm looking at is a Asus 27" ROG Swift, which is a G-Synch monitor.

As a later upgrade i'm looking to upgrade the CPU, is the i5 4690k a good upgrade from a i5 4670, or should i hold out for a few extra months and get the i7 4790k.

So, let me have you're comments folks :D Especially if these upgrades would need me to upgrade anything else, such as the PSU (currently have a: SuperFlower Amazon 450W "80 Plus Bronze")

Cheers!

I would get a 500Gb SSD for games , a 120Gb SSD for my OS and keep the 2TB HDD for everything else

but it depends on your budget i guess :)

Don't bother with the SSHD, just stick with your current HDD.

The GTX 1060 will do pretty well at 1440p. You might have to lower some settings in demanding games though.

The Super Flower Amazon should be ok, although it is a 'budget' unit. I wouldn't do any overclocking though to be on the safe side.

Yeah no overclocking for me, to scared i might break something.

And TBH base stuff has always done me well so far.

I did consider having the 3 drives, but i don't think my case handle them. Since it's such a small case it tends to run very hot, so overheating would be a big issue. I was thinking of getting rid of the fan cooler on the CPU and getting a water cooler for it.
