I've decided to upgrade my RAM to 2GB and was wondering whats the most suitable for my needs. I generally play games (WoW Geek) and do general web browsing etc. with my computer. At the moment i've got an ASUS P4C800 mobo with a p4 3.2g 800fsb chip if that makes any difference, although im thinking of getting a new pci-e setup with an AMD chip in the next couple months; so it would probably be best if it works with that too!

I'm not too fussed about overclockability as im way too much of a wimp to do it to any great extent :P

Not got oooodles of cash for the most expensive RAM's but any recommendations would be great :)

Thanks guys.

Hi

If you're looking to upgrade in a few months then I'd consider staying with 1GB. The reason for this that AMD are moving to DDR2 with their new socket, AM2, which is due out in the next few months. Intel have already made the move

If you wish to upgrade to Socket 939 then you can stick with DDR (this socket will slowly be phased out though)

If you want to buy some new DDR memory then the Geil Value stuff is rather good for the money. If you want some low latency ram (slightly faster) then look at the G.Skill 2GB DDR ZX PC3200 (2x1GB) CAS2 or the OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2 (OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K) (MY-057-OC)
