Generic controller not working?

Hi guys

I picked up a speedlink strike gamepad and im having some problems getting it working.

I first tried it with battlefield 3 all the controls worked accept the right anaolg stick so i couldn't walk around or move whatsoever? all the other buttons appeared to work?

Tried it with counterstrike go and this time the controller wouldn't even respond to anything in game or in the menus and load screen. I couldn't select the campaign with the controller or anything just the normal mouse and keyboard.

Finally tried the controller with bioshock infinite and again no response to any of the buttons on the controller i couldn't walk - change weapons or even select the game mode in the options screen with the controller.

Any idea why im having this problem? and if anyone got anything i can do to get my controller working would be appreciated. I just wanted the controller for offline play as i know it cant compare in speed to a mouse and keyboard

Drivers installed ok? check the manufacturers website for the latest version.

Can you try the controller on a different pc?

Thanks for the reply no drivers came with the controller but when i plugged it in a window come up and it said windows is searching for available drivers and after a few minutes it said your device is ready for use.

I will try re installing the drivers now directly from the speedlink website.

Haven't got another pc i can test it on as dont think my laptops would run any game to be honest and i only have the one gaming pc that i just finished building.

Will update in about 10 minutes once i try re installing the latest drivers

have you tried binding different buttons in the options to the controller setup? my joystick required wiping all default settings and starting again for bf4. So maybe they are just not seeing it properly

Just tried it again with bioshock infinite after re installing the drivers and its not even a option to click on in the bioshock infinite options? you know the controller options its blanked out and cant even click on it. Very strange i will try that with bf3 though.

I've got one of these controllers, support for it in games is seriously lacking as most games only seem to support a 360 controller.
On a few forums some people have reported using xpadder to map the buttons etc though not tried it myself, as I gave up and bought a 360 controller.
