How do the little intercom units attach to the helmet? (The ones that go on the outside of the helmet)

Is it a self-adhesive pad? I was wondering if I bought a Double Set of something by Scala or Interphone whether I could use one myself, and then hot swap the other between either my pillion's helmet, or a another rider's helmet? Or is it a case of "once it's stuck on, it's on?"

I have the inter phone so can only comment on that set. In the f5 pack you get two clips that clip to the inside of the shell and then te clip is on the outside and then two clips that can be stuck on so in total you could have 4 helmets ready to take the set. You also get two boom headsets and two cable headsets. So in essence you can have two open face helmets and two closed headsets ready at all times. This is one of the reasons I went worth the interphone as the scala you have to decide if you want a boom set of just a cable set.

Just FYI I had a scala bluetooth headset and it packed due to rain so be careful on that front.

Also, I hated the speaker which was mounted inside the helmet, it just wasn't good enough to hear properly. In the end I went with a solution which allows me to use my earplugs which double up as in-ear-monitors. This gives me crystal clear audio and I have earplugs in at the same time. If you want to go down this route then you need to check that the device you're going to buy has the ability to let you plug your own headphones in.

I can confirm that the interphones dont give you this option however i have no issues with the speakers, there not great but nothing wrong with them.
