Generique 7950

Hi,

I have seen competitor sites selling 7950's, branded "Generique", it looks to be a reference design but all of the pictures I can find show a reference 7970 blower cooler, not the typical in the middle cooler as is standard with all other reference 7950's.

Can anyone shed any light on this and confirm if this is the case?

I'm pretty sure that the reference cooler for the HD 7950 is a blower design much like the HD 7970. It's the lower models and custom blower designs that have the fan in the middle.

They're not reference cards. Checking some reviews most people say it comes with a completely different cooler, normally sapphire dual fan.

The centre fanned 7950's are reference though but that picture isn't the card you'll get.

There are some 7950 with 7970 blower fans, I only saw people selling them as OEM cards, the reference ones are the ones with the Fan in the middle.

I know which competitor you mean and you should keep an eye because they give only 1 year warranty and all Branded 7950/7970s comes with at least 2 years.
