Genesis Documentary

I think I'll stick with it a little longer until Hackett goes

I will admit I'd seen the proper Genesis a couple of times and then went to see the Collin's fronted Genesis at Bingley Hall, Stafford and thought he did an amazing job. My dislike came for him when he started his solo material.

Not really a Genesis fan but thought it was pretty good. I was growing up when Phil Collins was everywhere so just wasnt my type of music and he got pretty annoying. Looking back and after listening to him explain that he just kept getting offered stuff to do and thought "that might be fun" cant fault him.

He comes across as quite a nice bloke and whether you like his stuff or not hes really talented. The keyboard bloke seems a bit of a knob.

I enjoyed the show, and will freely admit I like Collins' solo material as well as the genesis stuff.

In the Air tonight is a great song.

Many years ago one of his neighbours appeared on TV, it might have been for a This Is Your Life type programme.
Anyway, this bloke was down on his luck and needed money to get himself out of debts and start to again but nobody would help him.
He decided to call on his neighbour Phil Collins who he had never met and introduced himself while casually asking for a £30,000 loan.
Phil took pity on him, wrote him a cheque and within the year the bloke brought him all the money back plus a hefty interest which Phil gave to charity.

I remember seeing that on tv. :)

I enjoyed the documentary and it was good to see all of them together again in one room - although there is obviously still a lot of bitterness between Peter Gabriel and Tony Banks.
