Gentle Typhoons on H100

Quick question to those of you using fans and cooler in title:

Are you using H100 fan control or a separate controller...if at all?

I'm using a separate controller as I had one lying around, some people have had strange things happen when running non stock fans from the H100 fan control.

I just put my AP-15s on the fan controller and they run at 100% all the time. And are now louder than the stock fans which defeats the point in me having purchased them...

Hmmm...thanks for the input Antony. I have the fans now, but not installed.

Planning on doing it and a 200mm Bit Fenix on my 650D this weekend.

Anyone else able to add to the above?

I know GTs (AP-15..the 1850rpm ones) dont have PWM, but assumed it wouldnt be a problem as the Corsair fans on the H100 are also only 3 pin.

Anyone got GT 1850s on H* products with similar results...or ideally working without a problem?

Any other recommendations for good low .db fans to go on a H100 that work without problem?

You may have better luck than me, my advise is to put them in the least obstructed place you can, as mine seemed to make even more noise when they were up against the mesh at the top of my 600T. You should be able to hook them up to your case fan controller if the 650D has one, or buy a cheap £25 one from somewhere.

The GT-15 will work just plug n' play on a H100, because the H100 controls the fans with voltage.

IIRC, low - 6V, Medium - 9V and high - 12V.

If you have a soldering iron and a 4 pin connector, you can solder a 4th connector on to the centre contact of the AP-15 and turn it in to a PWM fan. Not very hard at all.
