Genuine iphone4 screen replacement?

A friend has yet again broken his iPhone screen, he has the 4 and it's obviously not covered under warranty and he has no insurance on it, having looked at some youtube vids it seems like a fairly straightforward job to replace it with a new one as it's all one unit in the 4.

The issue I am having is choosing a suitable vendor for a replacement, there are hundreds and a mixture of compatibles and supposedly genuine apple screens.

Can anybody recommend me a vendor for a replacement screen, prefereably genuine unless you know it's a good replacement please?

Ifixit.com but it'll cost you dearly! The screens on eBay are pretty decent tbh especially considering the low cost

Take to the apple store and they will replace the screen for free or replace the whole iphone for £140

They just do - mostly.

They allow you a one replacement at their discretion.

I dropped mine on the floor and smashed it. Took it in and told them exactly that and they swapped it out FOC

its totally at their discretion mind , i always see wimenz getting replacements ''i took my phone out of my bag and it was cracked like this" etc. but then you often see people on here saying they couldn't get a replacement.

pretending your looking at macbook pros then pulling out the ''oh while I'm here my iPhone is broken'' is a valid option too , do anything for a sale!

There is a shop on eBay that sells genuine replacements for £29.99 they are from previous broken or returned handsets! I bought one and replaced a mates screen it's perfect!
