So I've finally got the approval to make a new TV purchase. I currently have a 2 year old HISENSE H55U7BUK which hasn't let me down really. To me the quality is decent, 4k Netflix and prime look incredible for me. Only issue is probably things like simpsons, family guy, infact any animated shows sometimes seem blocky on animations.

I have a series x paid for so it's mainly for that and again sky q uhd, Netflix and prime.

My concern is my missus watches day time TV sometimes. And screen burn being an anxious part of my potential purchase.

My budget is 1100 at the very very most.

So is it worth upgrading.

Also I'm in tier 3 so we can't go window shopping

Edit: I also have a newish LG soundbar and sub about 6 months old that connects via optical or Bluetooth. But that's mainly on for music. Not sure the upgrade on atmos or whatever lol

I'd say wait. Going to an XH90 or BX would be a nice jump, but the former has its issues at 4K 120hz and isn't a huge step-up in terms of Picture Quality necessarily, while the latter has the obvious burn-in risk. Over the next 2 years we'll see much better deals going on as miniLED TVs become more widespread & other outstanding issues get resolved, so then you can have the cake and eat it too (great PQ, no burn in, affordable).

It's easy to say wait, but let's face it, there's joy in having things right now. If you don't expect more than 2-3 years without burn-in then maybe do make the jump to the OLED. It's a subjective assessment at the end of the day between risk (burn-in) & better PQ.
