Like an idiot, just installed all of the latest Windows 7 auto updates and then restarted.

"Your copy of Windows 7 may not be genuine" said the system as it re-entered Windows.

It certainly is, and was bought from ******* on day of release.

No competitors

What do I do - please help!?!

Just rebooted again and the message didn't come up. Also went to Microsoft's offcial validation website and downloaded some checking software.

"Your copy of Windows is genuine"

FFS - make your mind up Bill

Microsoft have apparently added a patch in the new update which checks wether you have a ligit copy of windows or not, and with some legal windows it tells you its a pirate copy.

Of course, even if your Windows 7 copy is completely legitimate, there might be good reason not to download the update. Windows validation has been known to mislabel legit copies of software as pirated, which even if rare, is a pain that nobody wants to deal with.
