I go to load the game and get GeometryWars.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close

I’ve restarted since install
I’ve deleted the blob file, and restarted steam and it’s updated.
I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled but it still happen

Windows Xp home edition - all up to date

administrator restriction possibly? highly doubtful, but possible. you tried running the setup.exe from the install directory after delecting a random folder from it then choosing repair. then run the game .exe after? normally this helps with some steam game download issues.

im 100% admin on this computer :) ill try out what you said

i've downloaded it 7 times today ..lol :)

hmm i go in to the GW dir , and click the GW.exe but it says it cant find steam , there is another exe called testapp , i think its that which loads via steam.

hmmmm, you do have steam running right?

EDIT: another option i can think of is install it on a different path if you got multiple HDD's

Says the man with a 360.

Geometry Wars on Steam is specifically said to work with XP (and does), which is why it's there, and not just on Windows Live or whatever it's called.
