Geometry wars steam

I fancied playing this game again but every time I click play on steam it pops up with a window saying it has failed to load, there isn't even a noticeable pause or anything, I click play and less than a second later the error pops up,

I have tried all compatibility settings and have tried googling it but I can't find anything useful,

Can someone that has it on steam on windows 7 please load it up for me to see if it's only me that is getting the error?

Works fine for me on 7 64 bit.

I'm on win 7 x64 too and the first thing I tried was verifying the game cache, I also deleted local content and downloaded it all again,

I can't find any information on the web so I guess it must just be me
