German Doner Kebab

Had this again last night, 3rd time I've ever had it.

I got the large mixed wrap as a meal, mainly as I needed a drink.

Was ok, but bloody expensive, £14.66 it came to, that with an extra garlic sauce tub but even so.

I'm sure that's a lot more than I paid last time.

I'd agree with his comments. Had one a while ago an wouldn't go back! Didn't care much for their garlic sauce. Pretty poor and quite expensive with it.

Had a GDK at Meadowhall after people raved about it here. It was nice, not blown away, just nice.

Then i had one at the O2 - within the hour, explosive diarrhoea. Which isn't good at the best of times, but when it comes on during a walking visit to London - it got messy!!

Never touched one since.

Nearest to me is Croydon followed by Epsom or Sutton.

I think I might travel the extra couple of miles to Epsom or Sutton rather than risk a venture into Stab City.
That Croydon is a right dump, most sane folks I know would not venture into Croydon after dark unless out of their head on booze or gear.

Our HO is here haha I have to venture out every now and then in to stab city centrale

Having stayed at the Travelodge central on the weekend there’s a wealth of takeaways by East Croydon station. I didn’t get stabbed but kept my eye out as I had been warned.
 
Had one of these on my mates stag do last year. Was nothing like the one I had in Berlin, however, after the amount of drink I'd had, it was good...
 
I've always been a big fan of our local GDK, but as with most franchises experiences can vary between locations.
The most recent experience last week was seriously sub-par. Quality had fallen, greasiness had increased, bread had been changed and everything had been badly overseasoned... but the kicker is what it costs nowadays. At these prices, it's just no longer worth it.

Yea as I said I only ever had it three times but on the most recent the bread was different, it used to be, for lack of a better term just a "normal" bread for a wrap, but last time it was different almost like a really thin version of a McDonald's burger bun.

And as you say, it's getting stupid expensive.

Never say never but I'm not sure if bother again given the prices.
 
Had it a few time but don't rate it any better than a quality kebab from a dirty takeaway.

The packaging probably costs more than the food.
