My current PC (from Overclockers of course) is starting to show it's age. Despite a few upgrades over the years it's reached the point where new games are wanting to apply *shudders* medium settings so I figured I should start looking at a replacement.

I'm seriously tempted by the
Germanium Z7 and I've configured a build with:

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 64GB (2X32GB) DDR5 PC5-41600C40 5200MHz Dual Channel Kit
Primary M.2 Solid State Drive: WD Black SN770 2TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive (WDS200T3X0E)
Secondary M.2 Solid State Drive: WD Black SN770 2TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive (WDS200T3X0E)
Primary 2.5" Solid State Drive: Samsung 4TB 870 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 64 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-77E4T0B/EU)
Primary 2.5" Solid State Drive: Samsung 4TB 870 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 64 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-77E4T0B/EU)

Comes out at £5,735.97 (incl. VAT). I can't really see much else delivering similar spec for the price but wanted to get people's thoughts on possible alternative systems or build tweaks.

Seems quite pricey for what it is, I've picked out the sum of the parts with a few upgrades including faster memory a slightly higher tier GPU and better NVME drives. the only thing I can't find is the 4tb samsung SSDs but those would be £900 according to the build sheet.

All comes to £3,865 + £900= 4,765 and im sure the build costs won't be £1000

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £3,865.12 (includes delivery: £15.30)

NB you've picked a DDR4 motherboard and DDR5 memory.

Not for me to tell anyone how to spend their money but 12tb of ssd split over 4 drives seems like a lot!

My current system has 8tb of SSD not including the boot drive. My internet isn't super fast so sometimes I don't uninstall larger games just in case I want to play them again. AKA I'm lazy

Well fair enough... Can't you pull the drives from your existing machine?

I dunno if you're happy paying nearly £6k then go for it, seems nuts to me but I'm quite sure some things I splurge on would seem nuts to you :)

That's a fair point, I've got a colleague at work who doesn't have a PC that's interested in buying my old system but I'm sure he'll never need anywhere near that much storage so I could probably keep most of the SSDs from it.

Thanks for taking the time to go through all of that, very much appreciated and that does come to quite a bit cheaper!
