Almost 8 years to the day since the truck terror attack on a Berlin Christmas Market there's been another incident in Magdeburg tonight (around 90 miles from Berlin).
Reports that a Saudi national (a doctor who has worked in Germany since 2006) drove a rental car through the market; he has been arrested since; German media also reporting that there may have been explosives in the car so sounds like an ever worse scenario may have been avoided.
Reports of 2 killed but some reports of double figures - horrendous to see anytime but especially this time of year.

Reports are saying that he worked there for 18 years as a doctor.

I'd be interested to know what the hell motivated him to do this. It's not exactly your standard muslim terror suspect (if we can generalise)

Yeah it seems a strange one, generally in Germany when we've seen attacks or more isolated knife attacks its been young refugees or failed asylum seekers.
Not older, clearly educated and trained doctors who are legally resident there.

I'm trying to find this fact, especially so so soon after this atrocity. Have you a link please?

Its been reported in most of the European Media outlets as the Local PM of Saxony quoted it in a press conference a few hours ago; additionally the Regional interior minster has confirmed he's a 50 year old with a permanent residency permit.
Getting most of this off the CNN Live Blog just now

CNN must be true then:D

I could have given a link to the local German TV which ran the statement by the Premier Live from his own mouth but it was in German so I don't think you'd watch it.

But the information is all over multiple sources across UK, European and US news channels, papers and outlets; it it all "fake" unless it comes direct from the mouth of Fuhrer Elon? or someone like Alex Jones?

Anyway it seems like your looking for your own narrative anyway so I'll leave you to it.

Germany warned 3 times. Why did they ignore it?

Another good day to bury bad news? Or something else?

I'd probably like to see if that gets reported from official sources rather than a Twitter feed myself before assuming its correct, a quick flick and I can only see a very small number of iffy looking account reporting it, not a single reputable media source from any nation.

I suspect there are a large number of potential suspects being watched in Germany, probably a magnitude greater than what were dealing with in the UK, at some point you can't keep tabs on all of them, and this guy appears on the face of it to have been a lower threat given it seems he wasn't seen as a typical Islamic/Muslim extremist.

Here is a couple of other sources;

Yeah was just coming back to say I've since seen the same reported to Reuters via a Saudi Govt Source now .
