Germany v England BBC2 Now !!!

Hmmm 2 goals behind now...luckily they didnt go 3 behind just now...would love to see the girls win it.
 
6-2?!? do they actually teach defending to women? I do love how they're suddenly making a big deal out of womens football, full page articles on the mail and live commentary on BBC. I wonder how many people actually read it.
 
I just loved how they kept saying the score didn't reflect the game :D

England were pretty dire in defense, and Germany were much better.
 
I loved the commentators when the english girls attempted a crossfield chipped through ball, failed and it went straight to their cb. "That was good defensive positioning there."
 
I have just watched the highlights and I have to say the German goals are absolutely superb.

Maybe because defensively they tend not to be a strong and the goalkeepers are tad small, it sets the games up to be exciting.

I have to say that I support Womens football all the way after the showing...really entertaining stuff!!!

Not really, there was an interesting comment on the BBC asking why women's football gets so much stick whilst womens athletics for example doesn't. The big difference is that many guys, including myself have played competitive football whether it was at school or boys clubs or work/pub teams or even pro/semi-pro/juniors. It's the sort of experience that means you KNOW that they aren't very good.
 
I just watched the highlights, had to switch off halfway through to stop the cringing. The England girls almost looked scared when the ball was crossed into the Germany area at head height, they all ducked out the way!
