:) Hi Guys - any help with the following would be much appreciated.

Several years ago on this forum I had some great help from members with a
new system that I built. Sadly the system is now creaking, :( so would like to build a new box. At the moment I have the following:

1) Gigabyte GA-7n400 Pro
2) AMD 2500 clocked to 3200
3) 120Gb Hdd
4) 400w PSU
5) 4 x 400mhz Ram (4 slots on m/b but only 2 work)
6) case, monitor, CD-R, etc

As you can see, I am in desperate need of a new computer. If you could
suggest anything that would be great.

I mainly use the computer for audio apps, photo editing, surfing the net etc.
No games.

At the moment I have a PCI wireless card installed, would also like to have
a web cam if that's possible.

I have a budget of 4-500 ukp. At a push I can use the monitor, keyboard, mouse.

Looking at the above, it seems a bit of a tall order. It has crossed my mind to get a ready made computer, but not sure how that would stack up against building one.

Thanks for looking at my request, hope someone will come up with an idea.;)

:) Many thanks guys for your quick response

Looking at the items you have listed I noticed one or two things
that I do not need. Like Windows, I hope to try Linux so will be
able to save a little on that. I also have a monitor, cd-r, keyboard
mouse etc.

Not to nit pick, :o but are there any Gigabyte motherboards that would
be able fit on to the list. The Gigabyte motherboard I have at the
moment has been great, running now for about 5/6 yrs with no
problems, :D so would like to try one of those again.

As I would be saving money on several items, I would rather spend
it on a better motherboard, cpu, ram. Something that would be
future-proof? if that is possible, also perhaps a cpu that could be
overclocked would be nice.

Thanks again for your input, most appreciated. ;)

Regards
