Get a 120Hz monitor now or wait until G-sync?

I'm currently in the market for a new monitor and I'm thinking of going 120Hz, mainly so that I can kick even more ass in BF3/4. However, I know G-sync is around the corner, so I'm wondering, will G-sync provide any noticeable benefits over and above current 120Hz?

I would wait for gsync if I was you,if only to see reviews and reactions too it given how close to release it is.you'd only kick yourself if you bought the monitor now and gsync turned out to be amazing.although if you did buy the asus VG248QE 120 hz monitor now you can retrofit the gsync daughter board later....that could be a good option.

G-sync .. pfff just get a decent 120hz monitor now if you really need it, that gsync technology crap is nothing special or worth waiting for and nothing more than a technology tie in trap.. that would force you into buying nvidia card to go with your screen... amd mantle is real advancement here not this marketing gimmick from nvidia, they seem to be slipping and using garbage marketing to promote pointless future tech.

vsync at 120hz with a good lcd and no input lag and a decent pc to push 120fps ... gsync is not a reason to wait for a future price jackup.

I'd wait for G-Sync and see how well it performs, preferably a 120Hz G-Sync Monitor, remember, you can also use AMD cards on a G-Sync monitor anyway, so you'll have the choice of red and green, Mantle or G-Sync whichever GPU takes your fancy at the time.

Do you know this because you have a monitor running Gsync and are also already using Mantle, or is it just an opinion based on nothing?

If the people who saw Gsync in the flesh are telling the truth about it being a game changer, it may be worth holding on for a bit longer.
If it does turnout poop as posted above, revert to plan B.

Well GSYNC is essentially nothing more than a new Lightboost done offically, and a way of gaming without VSYNC as the cause of tearing is being out of SYNC therefor it will GSYNC the monitor and graphics card so you can game with VSYNC off.

What is not to like about that? VSYNC is a killer for input lag on my IPS. And with the nature of wanting Triple Buffering to go with VSYNC you add in the need for frame buffers. Even one frame at 120HZ is 8ms of lag correct me if i am wrong. So shaving off that buffer even at 120HZ is a good thing and even more huge when you go lower down in HZ. Even polished titles such as Witcher II exhibit a weird jitter when turning corners on my computers for some reason it is the only game ever to do so. So i basically have to play with tearing and if i had GSYNC i would not even have a problem. I suspect that GSYNC also acts like a built in FPS limiter which people will know from using tools to do so improves smoothness in a lot of games for some very silly reasons to do with VSYNC.

60HZ VSYNC 16ms frame buffer
120HZ VSYNC 8ms frame buffer
120HZ GSYNC No frame buffer
