At the moment I have an A10 6800k

So now they've come is it worth upgrading? I wouldn't have to upgrade my mobo since i have FM2+.

Also, I'm into building small PCs and use it mostly for games.

so yeah.

I'd wait TBH. The price of the 2 APU's released yesterday beggars belief & the hUMA features are not supported enough yet for my taste. I'm going to wait myself for the price to drop a fair bit, or see what pops up in the MM. :)

I wish I could use MM.

I didn't think they where too expensive, only 30 ish £s more than the 6800k

A10 6800k
8gb team group vulcan 1600mhz
Asus A88XM-A AMD A88X

That is all :)

What PSU did you use?

Faster RAM helps the APU, 1600Mhz isn't ideal really. You can upgrade the APU but it's still hampered by that RAM speed. My advice would be to add a good value GPU. I've done plenty of APU builds and always described it as a good value all rounder. Should the gaming habit get more serious then drop in a GPU......

The 270 is a great performer @1080p and is great value. This one comes with BF4, either enjoy the game or sell it on to recoup some spondoolies :)

Well, after reading all the hype, I went from Trinity to Richland & saw no difference in day to day use apart from an increase in temps. The Richland is currently in residence in my Nephews rig with a HD7850. What he doesn't know is that I'm replacing it with a FM2 Athlon as he doesnt need the GPU part of the Richland. I'm putting it in this board

add some 1600MHZ ram off the mm, pop a linux distro on it for a everyday use rig for a few months until my Xmas debt is paid off & I can then 'up the power' :D
