I currently have an AMD64 3700+ on an ASROCK DualVSTA board. But I only have a 9700pro, so I feel an upgrade coming on. :D

My only problem is, do I do the deed now and get an x1950pro, or wait till DX10 and Vista (not really a fan of it tbh) are released?

Or wait till the Wii is released, then either get that or a 360 if it drops (but that's another matter really :p )

Cheers, Chris!

Go for the upgrade now, no point waiting till Vista or DX10 become the norm'.
BTW the performance increase will be huge :D

Also recommend the same. Vista, DX10, etc will take sometime to be the norm/cheap/etc ;)

Hope you have a decent PSU though, i.e. ATX 2.0, etc?

one thing thoug you may see some cpu bottle necking in some games.

A 3700, providing its nicely clocked, still has plenty life in it yet before it starts to be the bottleneck over a lot of cards. ;)

It's not an atx2.0. It's a X-Pro 470w.

Thanks for the advice. I really am liking the look of the x1950pro. Excellent "bang for buck" performance! Reckon I will get a "bit" of a boost from a 9700pro! :D :D

I wont be purchasing anything untill after Christmas now though.

i totally agree just built a 3700 system for my neice. i just ment at standard rates on some games that are more cpu dependant tehre may be a smalll bottle neck. how ever you will still see a huge performance increase over a 9700.

I'm sure it will be fine as I'm not going any higher than 1280x1024 for now on most games.

The HIS IceQ Turbo looks very nice for the small amount extra. :D
