get an extra 8gb or replace current with 2x 4?

Currently got one stick of A-data 8gb 1333MHz.

Everyone has told me I'll get a noticeable boost out of using dual channel and above, so what should i do? Is the pain of getting mixed ram sticks worth it or shall i just get 2x 4gb, budget is £50. Thanks.

So no as I'm primarily for gaming I won't need it. Maybe if i begin down more heavy CAD next year (engineering course) but my CPU would struggle before my ram, am I right?

Maybe, but when you no which software you will be using then you can upgrade your spec if needed.
