Ok, in my lounge I have all my home cinema gear with AV receiver etc.

I want to run a HDMI cable from my AV receiver output to my Projector which is in my bedroom - distance is about 20m

Now I understand you can buy HDMi amplifier cables that run this long, so the video side of things is ok, but I want to run some speakers in by bedroom as well but dont want to be running speakers cables as it gona look messey all the cables going round my door frames etc.

Is there a device that has a HDMi input and a HDMI output as well as audio out for getting the audio signal from the HDMI?........ This way I can just run the one HDMI signal and that should do the trick :)

Hope you understand :)

Yer HDMi over cat 5 is great, but that just send the video signal to my projector and still leaves the problems of getting the audio.

I really want 5.0 sound in my other room, but with out all of the cost, of buying a new AMP.

My AMP in my lounge has Zone 2 on it but that would only send 2 channel audio so that doesnt seem a option.

Is there no such thing as a speaker cable switch box? (happy to now put speaker cables through the ceilings)

What I mean by that is...... I can run all my speaker cables from the 5.0 speakers in my bedroom and 5.0 speakers in my lounge in to some type of switch box which has speaker output terminals which I would then run to the 7.1 connections on the back of my amp, with pressing a switch on the box I can choose which speaker cables are powered by the amp?

Seems a good idea and I see they do these switch type things for HDMI and component etc when you have multiple inputs :)

Because I realised going through the ceiling would allow me to use the same AMP if it was possible to find a switch box.

I will look in to the second hand AMP option :) and run speakers through that

What about all my hardware in my other room though how do I get to use all that without moving it?

Thanks
