Get List of Files from Server

Hi all,

I'm unsure on where best to ask so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I have a folder on a server which contains 42,000+ images for products, it's a dedicated server which is supplied by Rackspace and we're moving over to their Cloud service (it used to host our site but then we moved but kept this server so it's just a glorified images server really) anyway.

I'm looking to do a bit of house cleaning with the images as a lot of these are no longer needed and I've worked out I need around 7,500 and have a list of file names.

Can anyone advise me on the easiest solution in getting these down off the server? Currently I'm facing getting someone to sit there doing a Find in Fileazilla!

do you have RDP\SSH access to the box?

I can allow ssh access from ip's in the firewall manager so I image I do have ssh access yes.

Shouldn't be too difficult to get a script to loop through each line and retrieve the file through scp

nevermind, as noted your best chucking the list of files you need into a text file and then writing a simple shell script to recurse through the list...but don't download the files individually in that loop, repeatedly reopening a transfer session per file will be very inefficient, move them to a new folder locally and then SCP the entire folder off the server...
