I still know people using JPEG *cough some venture photographers cough* :p anyway, just to tap others into the RAW workflow here's a quick example just playing around with things at hand (hah!) on what can be achieved with no photoshop editing at all, all RAW.

no raw editing, straight off the memcard

Some RAW adjustments later

And to finish up..

Happy shooting xD

Sometimes taking a photo takes so long, I just can't be bothered taking the camera out of my bag. I just stand there, and try really hard to remember the scene. ;)

Sometimes that takes to long and I simply stay at home and watch porn.

That asumes that you had the energy to get/download the porn in the first place. I am sure it takes energy to turn on the computer, but then I don't think I can be bothered to turn off the computer in the first place.

I prefer the unedited one, nice and natural.

That's cool, but it is diesel afterall !

It's going to be different for the object you shoot each time though.

hows RAW editing different to jpg editing using photoshop? Is it basically that you can do more with RAW? (hehe that rhymes :p)

I'm really into RAW now, it's just soo much more powerfull. I use Lightroom and it has really good workflow in my opinion :) RAW photos look more like film to me than Jpegs, i'm not sure why.

I like the last image.

did you do the selective colouring in photoshop?

I did it much easier which I'm sure many people out there use too but I always seem to see people post about selective colouring :p

I do it this 2ay:

1 : Duplicate layer

2: On bottom most layer convert it to BW (manually or automatically, whichever gets the effect you want)

3: Using a feathered eraser simply erase out the bits on the top layer that you want to be seen as BW, you can hold CTRL if you make a mistake to undo that erased area again if you make a booboo :p

very nice indeed, shame i cant get Aperture to run on my machine and its one of the latest iMacs out as well, must really only be capable on a powermac
