Get refund of credit from BT

I have just changed from o2 and BT to Plusnet phone and broadband.
With o2 I had to phone up and request a refund of credit, do I have to do the same with BT or should it be done automatically.

I would phone up m8 better safe than sorry with it being BT.

tried to phone just went from menu to menu and couldnt get to actually speak to someone.
So I tried live talk, after asking if I would get the refund automatically or would I have to request it, they said "yes, is there anything else I can help you with", so I said "which is it then" , they disconnected, what a load of idiots.
Surely there must be someone else who has left BT and knows the answer

I have just done this as well. O2 emailed to tell me I owed them £20 when in fact it was -£20

BT just credited me with the remaining balance without needing any prodding

Cheque arrived from BT on Sat morning as the wife had cancelled the Direct Debit.
