Get rid of Windows Explorer thing...

...which is present in whatever folder I'm trying to browse. On the left handside.

I have just reinstalled Vista and am finding it quite annoying..

I'm guessing you mean the 'Folders' section and not the whole thing including 'Favourite Links'? I'd love to know this as well, gets very annoying and decides to show its self whenever it wants.

If you do mean the whole thing though, you can click on Organize > Layout > Navigation Pane to remove it.
