how can i make it so windows doesn't need meto login everytime i start up. At the moment it loads up the older style login page where it has written user name and needs a password, rather then the newer style where you select the user which has a picture next to it.

Someone showed me how to do it before but i have forgot

thanks

You want to use the XP welcome screen I think.

go into control panel/user accounts and tick use welcome screen also tick use fast user switching, if you want to be able to stay logged on while someone else uses their account.

This happens when you install DotNet's Framework, you have you login (even with 1 user and no pass)

Click Start, Run, enter control userpasswords2 Open: textbox , uncheck the Users must enter a username and password to use this computer check box, Apply, Enter the User Name and Password that you desire to autmaticlly logon as, OK. You will not get the pop-up with the option to enter the default user login Name and Password unless you click Apply (the red one above).

THIS might help too.

HTH - or you can install and use TweakUI.
