Im sick of my AMD now not the fastest, lower fps in games and after getting an SSD i learned the AMD sata controller is a piece of ****

So I have some money to spend now but should I just get a Z68 mobo + i5 2500k now or wait for the Ivy and get an i5 3570?

Is it worth upgrading from a 1090t to intel?

and do you guys think Ivy will be faster than sandybridge

I dont know, I really want to use my SSD and I just cant with this terrible AMD AHCI sata controller. I mite just get an i5 2500k, 1090t are easy going £110 on ebay and mines in great condition, i could do with selling my motherboard too

You're GPU throttled in almost all games, not CPU.

Also, the AMD SATA controller is generally rated as very good.

But if you want to go for one, wait for Ivy.

I don't think it is your issue then.

Also, are you sure the board is using the one in the chipset, or is it using a third party one? Some of the third party ones are dire.

Ivy will be faster, because reports say it can overclock close to 6GHZ in looped water cooled systems, so if your going to overclock the chip, wait for ivy.

Might be worth selling your x6 mate, they are more saught after than bulldozers due to better performance so you should get a good price, I'd go with sandybridge, its still a very good architecture and you can always upgrade bits and bobs along the way :)
