Download the latest QCP 5000 10.5 software to your desktop. Download the last QCP 4000 software that was released (qc848) to your desktop. Extract the files from qc848 using winrar/winzip to a folder also on the desktop. Unplug your web cam and install the qc1050 software. When prompted to plug in your web cam do so (the drivers will not be found, accept and close any messages regarding drivers not found for your new hardware).
Open device manager and locate your web cam, right click and select update driver, click "browse my computer for driver software" then point to the drivers folder that is within the extracted qc848enu folder on the desktop. It should now install the "older" drivers. Re-boot and hey bingo you should now have a fully functioning Quick Cam Pro 4000 on Vista with the new jazzed up Vista QCP software. :)
