getting a cat ... wheres the cheapest

My cats have a food bowl, a water bowl, a ****box and a few toys.

That's it.

They find their own amusement really and sleep in the most uncomfortable of places hanging over random steps etc. No need for a bed.

Much like trolls then!

That was an excellant put down, I bet he wasn't expecting that.

If your cats are anything like mine, scatter a few cardboard boxes around the house, one of my cats loves to sleep in a randomly selected box every night. Its quite funny watching it when it starts to choose which one to kip in, spends ages going from box to box before deciding which one to use. It''use that one for about 4 or 5 nights, then will do the choosing game again.

Scratching posts are a waste of time and money. My cat used his once or twice but then decided that the he still preferred the bottom of the settee and chairs.

It might be a location thing. We have a long hall and had one out there but it never got used. It seems it was too close to their litter trays, strong sense of smell I guess. We moved it to the living room and they made short work of it and are on a second one now.

My cat generally likes to sleep on newspapers. But you can't just buy a newspaper specifically for him to sleep on, oh no. Only when you are reading said newspaper is it prime sleeping territory.

Cats are ace :D

I know exactly what you mean about the boxes. Any box, no matter the size, he'd be straight into it and claiming it as his own. :D

Not going to star the whole house cat thing again. But please don't unless you live next to a motorway / middle of the ghetto.

cats like being outside, atleast get 2 so they cn be miserable together.

My cats have a massive scratching post that cost us about £60, and whilst I do occasionally catch one of them scratching the sofa, the state that the post is in probably means that having it has saved our sofa.

It's about 5 feet tall, and my cat spends most of his life sleeping on the top of it.

Tesco/Asda are the best places for cat stuff such as litter trays, bowls etc.

in expierience i dont think any of our cats have used there beds  theyd rather sleep upside down on a concrete floor or ballanced on top of a radiator or some other silly place

Haha yes, I also like how the settle for the most uncomfortable palces just because it looks clever / looked nice to start with.....such as a pillow on the verge of falling off a seat.

People shouldn't buy cats at all, they should be free to good homes. It irks me every time I seel classified ads in the local paper saying "Kittens - £40".

yup :)

I bought two beds for my cats and they wouldn't go near them originally, so I stuck them under my PC desk and used them as feet warmers until my natural scent (not smelly feet, just natural scent..very different) had rubbed off onto the beds, now they use them practically every night.
