Hey guys I guess I should really put this in the monitor section of the forum, but I would be waiting a long time to get any help in their as it's so quiet.
Anyways I have switched monitors from my LG M2250DM to a Dell UltraSharp U2312HM. The issue is that on the LG everything was crisp and sharp and now on the Dell... it's not! I know it's a pretty popular monitor on here so do you guys have any calibration tips? Currently using the "Gaming" preset, but it just seems to put film grain on every game which looks hideous! Windows 8, IE and text has never looked sharper, but as I say games look shocking. Up close and personal games look as gorgeous and sharp as ever, but the film grain effect makes anything in the distance look fuzzy, dull and very un-detailed.

Maybe because on the LG I was using HDMI and now on the Dell I have no choice but to use DVI?! I dunno just a guess :P

Thanks.

Are they the same resolution, and have you made sure it's set to it's native resolution in games?
Just checking too, but the game(s) you're playing aren't Mass Effect that DO have a film grain effect deliberately?
There shouldn't be a difference in image quality at 1920x1080/1200 between DVI and HDMI unless you are using a really poor quality cable that is resulting in lots of noise (that is pretty unlikely).

Both 1920x1080. Games I've tried are Hitman: Absolution, TERA, COH: 2 and Marvel Heroes. Off to the pub now, but I suppose I should install the drivers off the cd that came with the monitor.
