Getting a GTX 770, suggest me a revision and cooling

I currently have a HD 4870, I've been wanting to get a new card for sometime now, but up until the GTX 770 they haven't really been that great. I need a GTX 770 for Cuda for my dissertation over the next 12 months, so I can't wait any longer.

Anyway, I am wanting a card that OC well. I doubt it makes any difference which card, but I would like one where I can use an aftermarket heat sink so that I can decrease noise and temperatures and maybe OC when I play the odd game. Furthermore I will be replacing my system's fans to ultra low noise fans while I am at it.

So, does anyone have any suggestions for a card or a aftermarket heat sink?

There aren't that many reviews yet...
I've personally went for EVGA Superclocked ACX version - you get a free backplate from EVGA (order from their website). I'm sure that the Gigabyte Wndforce and Asus DirectCu will also be gr8 - so it's up to you. If you hurry up you can get the 5% facebook voucher.

Also chek the thread about RMAs - EVGA and Gigabyte are both very good (Asus not so much) - Gigabyte has the advantage of having RMA centre in UK but with EVGA you can extend your warranty to 5 years and they have interesting 'step up' program.

How long does the 5% thing last and also does Metro Last Light come with the cards?

5% lasts until the end of today (31st) - but if you are eligible for a free delivery - it doesn't really make that much of a difference (you wouldn't get free delivery with the voucher).

And nope - GTX 7xx don't come with Metro Last Light

What about the cooler, also I forgot to state that I am wanting to get high end air cooling or perhaps small internal liquid cooling.

If you need it for CUDA, you're really better off getting an nVidia 5 series. Kepler is crap when it comes to CUDA performance, like embarrassingly so.

I am wanting to make my system completely silent and also want lower temps.

Most cards these days are very quiet in idle which is the only time noise levels matter in my opinion. When the card is in use you'll probably have headphones on anyway. One to stay away from though is the evga acx version as I've read this is pretty loud in idle compared to others.

If you really wanted to fit an aftermarket cooler then there's not many options. There's really only the arctic accelero xtreme III and those other ones which require you to use your own 120mm fans. They're too much hassle to bother with imo.

Don't have headphones, and since I will be doing Cuda the card will be under full load.

Most are still very quiet under load. I'd recommend the palit jetstream or msi lightning/msi gaming. A couple of reviews show the Asus and Gigabyte versions being considerably louder when stressed.

How loud is the rest of your pc? Unless its extremely silent then I don't think you'll notice much difference by changing the cooler.

Its probably best to get the card first, if you consider it too loud then look into aftermarket cooling.

Currently it is not that quite, I am wanting to replace all the fans in my system, with something like the ultra quite Noctuas. I have a AX850, it is passive under about 450W.

I'd get some be quiet silentwings2 instead, they are expensive though... but then again so are noctua :)

I looked at those and they are very very expensive, I have an Antec 900 and a Silver Arrow SB-E Extreme. So I would need 3 for the case, 3 for the CPU and then also for the GPU.
