Getting a New Computer

Right lads basically I want to get a computer that is fast, quiet with a good quality screen and sound system.
Could anyone recommend one?

I would also be interested in building it myself if that would be of benefit to the speed and performance of the computer.

First off budget?
Do you have a keyboard and mouse?
If you built it yourself it costs a bit less so you can upgrade some parts.

Price range/what your using it for? Do you have any bits that you could possibly use from an old build?

O ya sorry. forgot about a few things.

Think I'll just get a new mouse and keyboard. Will need a monitor aswell.

And would have no bits from a previous build.
It'd be my first build.

budget of probably around 1,500 would be the max i could go to I reckon

This spec has best 22 inch lcd on the market, very good speakers, powerful gfx card,blue-ray player, nice case(i have it) and it's quite a beast of a pc:

Thanks for the help. one of my friends wants to build one aswell. Could you do up a cheap build itd need monitor and mouse and keyboard aswell?

How much? also if you need an OS get Vista 64 bit premium with windows 7 voucher so you can upgrade in October.

As cheap as possible. He's doing it as a hobby rather then proper use. He did a proper one himself last year. It's where i got the idea to build one from.
he'l probably end up giving it to his son

Not sure if this is a bit too expensive, i went with same monitor, keyboard and mouse since the pc will be good all round(even for games.):

You could save some by switching the lcd to something like this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-084-SA&groupid=17&catid=949&subcat= but i personally wouldn't since the image quality is a real big difference for a start.

I've got a similar pc to the one i specced you....gtx275, i7, 6gb 1600mhz corsair ram, antec 902 and same cooler it's stupidly fast.

(pretty quiet too and nice temps.)

I am also getting that lcd next week from here, read so much about it and wanted a nice ips panel but feel like the £425 for the HP 24 inch model isn't worth the cash difference for a guy like me who isn't on ultra high income.
