Hi,

I have some points that will be completely off my licence soon (4 years) and I'd like to get a new clean counterpart printed. My photo is up for renewal in a couple of years anyway. Is there any way to kill two birds with one stone and get a new photo put on there now which will give me another 10 years on my photocard? Seems silly to pay to have one printed now and then have to pay again in a couple of years.

Thanks

i dont think u have to update your photo on your license unless u r planning on driving outside of the UK,, but if u want a clean license go for it

The letter I got from DVLA yesterday says otherwise, £20 quid too

thats just because they r money grabbers :P, i was on the understanding that uk law does not require u to have a photo on your licence, its just another EU thing

From what i understand i think if you have a non-photo license you get to keep that... But if for what ever reason you need modifications to it such as address, points etc... Then you will be issues with a new Photo License which requires updating every 10 years

Yeh, I had to get one once I got my bike pass, what's annoying is the fact that they didn't charge me a penny to change my address a few months back but to change the photo is going to cost me £20 + whatever getting the photo costs, why I couldn't have just done it all at the same time I don't know.
