Ok I am thinking about getting the 24" dell but the £400 price tag is chafing...

What alternatives do you guys suggest?

Mostly surfing, games, music creation...

You could go for a far cheaper 22" panel, there are some really good deals at the moment.

Get the 24 it's clearly what you want so anything else will just be a disapointment and land up being a stop ga until you decide to cough up for what you really wanted in the first place!

PS Never come on here to be talked into the cheaper option it rarely works!

Superbe monitor. Fantastic for 360 use also....I have had one for a while now and it is definately one of my better 'investments' hardware wise

2407 WFP, easilly worth the price tag, excelent picture quallity, and when used with a 360, can do 1080p

If you want the Ultimate 24" the it's the 2407WFP-HC if you want 2nd best then drop a few quid and buy the A04 that uses the Same panel but has different back lighting so is not 92% colour gamut. Then next best is the Samsung 245B then the ACER

Small thing but a major plus Dell's warranty is the best BAR NONE they will replace next day direct , most other manufacturers warranty terms are ambiguous

Oh my, the new 2407WFP-HC is just awsome. Can't fault it. Having gone from a 19" CRT to this beast I now feel so clostrophobic using anything smaller.
If you have the cash and gfx power I would vote for the 24" anytime. You know you want to

I figured I couldn't go for anything that wouldn't do 1080p as it would be false economy as I'd just want to upgrade again.
