Clear your IE cache and that should allow you to re-apply

Not really sure why anyone would want to reserve a name they are never going to use (obviously its a little different if its your real name) - just a general comment I was thinking about

i get to the point where it sends me an email,to continue it says click on link but the link is not highlighted

Wait until you recieve the email - and that will have another link in it to finish the process

Can I ask a question? I was under the impression that the PS3 did not have 'live tags' as such as support was game by game. What are the IDs for?

No they are working on unifying the network experience, like Xbox Live, just in a different fashion with other publishers. You need a PSN ID for things like friends list, chat, etc. It's early games like Resistance that has its own friends list because the Sony network APIs weren't ready.

Ooooh okay. Did think it was a bit odd them not having a unified tag system.

Methinks I'll have to edit my gamertag database to accept PS3 IDs too

Secondly, isn't there a way I can sign into my new account without being on a PS3, as I have no intention of getting one
