Getting a really annoying problem...

If I'm viewing a lot of websites on my PC that are image intensive, so perhaps the car owners club website I'm a member on and say a wallpaper site, or perhaps using torrents (legal) for like game patches..... I've noticed that my network changes to "local connection only" and I get the Yellow exclamation mark in the bottom right hand corner. (Also noticed it happens now with Spotify).

So it seems to be when it's getting hammered.

Now, I thought I had fixed this by disabling IPv6 in Vista(x64), but it has returned. I've also had a new Router since I first noticed the issue and it's still happening. The only thing not replaced is the Powerline Adapters I'm using. Could they be the problem?

I've updated the driver on my Marvell Yukon NIC to v11.20.2.3 which is the latest from the Marvell website, dated 17/08/2009. This has not helped. I'm running the latest Intel Chipset drivers for the motherboard (P35 Chipset) and it has the latest BIOS. Windows is also up-to-date and there are no Viruses or Spyware according to Malwarebtyes, Spybot and Nod32.

What I have noticed though is that when it occurs, if I close all the browser(s) down and any apps, wait for about 30sec-1min it will fix itself. If I keep a browser open, but just say, show the Google homepage it won't resolve itself until it is completely closed.

There are loads of Advanced options for the NIC, just wondering if anyone could cast an eye over these as I don't know what half of them do. (All power save features are disabled as well).

The last option cut off from that list is "Wake Up Capabilities" and it is set to "Magic Packet & Pattern Match".

Thanks!

I get this in 7 as well. If i switch networks it seems to take an age to realise that it is a valid connection to the internet.

I just ignore it as firefox keeps on working fine (even when windozs is telling me it's only a local connection)

I'm getting this in W7m except it tells me I have No Network Activity. I've tried changing duplex settings, routers, DHCP/static - everything I can think of. Nothing helps :(

Yeah I'm still getting it. Got a new Router and everything. Seems to be Spotify just kills it. Still haven't resolved this. :(

I used to have a Asus motherboard that had a Marvel lan port that would lock the whole computer up at random times, I tried everything to solve it like moving ram etc Turns out it was the driver they released that came through windows update, rolling back to the old driver solved it so try an older driver.

I'm having problems connecting to a mirror site to dl and play games.

The controller has some kind of difficulty in seeing the modem
or dhcp server, but i don't really understand that level.

I have the same yukon but installed on 32bit XP Pro.
Your version seems to have 4 lines dedicated to Ipv4 checksum offloads tcp/udp
The option for my Ipv4 is just one line - TCP/UDP checksum offload (Ipv4)
which I disabled, no luck there though.

As I have just installed this I cannot 'rollback' to a previous driver. but i'm hoping its not too much trouble to find an earlier version. I will go looking for one now. If not can I just download a generic ethernet controller?
