Hi all

I am having an issue with the screen 'glitching' or momentarily going black, in windows 10.

The glitch is like a flicker of distortion across the screen. It is less than a second.

The screen going black is different. It is as if the display output momentarily switches off, the screen goes entirely black for a second, then comes back on.

I have noticed this occuring significantly last night when i was writing a document in libreoffice and using the edge browser to view pdf's at the same time. I think the issue could be linked to edge, since it would occur more frequently when i was scrolling the pdf.

It doesnt happen when im bowsing the net in firefox, nor when running the asus realbench multimedia benchmark.

if you are using a laptop , could be wear on the lvds cable running through hinge into screen (are you subtly changing screen angle for different activities )? if problem occurs more after extended warm-up/on-time could also be an indication of h/w issue

Its a brand new i5 desktop i built myself. The problem is sporadic, not related to the time the pc has been on i dont think. Ive checked temperatures and no apparant issues.

Nope. The problem doesnt happen all the time. I can be browsing for hours and no issue, but last night using libreoffice and edge, big problems.

Do you have a graphics card as well as Intel HD/IGP - on laptops for energy saving can have transition of work between the two - I do not know about desktops, but can you disable IGP if you have both.
Also make sure you are driving monitor at a frequency it genuinely supports, eg if monitor only does 50/25 hz it will interpolate frames if driven at 60/30hz (EDID for monitor may lie)

I am using integrated graphics at the moment as haven't bought a dedicated GPU yet (I plan to).

Monitor is set to 60 Hz, and is a freesync monitor but not being driven by an AMD card at present.
