Getting a similar paint colour from an alternative manufacturer

Hi all

I want Farrow & Ball "Skylight" for our bedroom. The only problem is that it's £63 for 5L : puke :.

Is there a clever way I can get the most accurate colour match from a cheaper manufacturer?

Dulux have paint mixing stations in B&Q, a tester pot id about £2 IIRC.

Just go to your local crown, they should have the ral number and have it mixed in McPherson paint, should be about £26 for 5l

Yea Dulux mix up to F&B colours

Johnson paint dealers will colour match FB colours. I have their version of "Dimity" in my living room.

Is there any reason why you would go with Dulux over F&B? Is the quality of paint any better?

Only reason I ask this is I find Crown & Dulux paint quality poor, not very durable and discolors quite quickly.

It's about half the price? Having kids, I don't want to shell out on the best possible paint finish and longevity, as it'll get bashed pretty well about 10 minutes after it's been applied.
