Hello..

So I took a photo last night, and I would like to get it printed, I have no idea how to go about this, There's a Snappy Snaps near me, So I'm wondering do I just go down the with the image on a card and do it that way ?

How do I ensure the picture doesn't get stretched etc ?

I'm not sure how to link the photo here from 500px so I'll just link my account

Its Week 4 "The Waiting Game" was taken on a Nikon d7000

Thanks in advance

Cheers for the advice guys, I should have explained, that I'm after a large print and getting it framed.

Where do people go to get that sort of thing done ?

Thanks for a the help guys...

Raymond I went on that DS Colour lads and had a poke around I decided to give them a go why not...

I haven't ordered yet because I picked a larger size 36" x 24" and when I go into the the image viewer it says "DPI 130" which it does say is "Good" but its in yellow text. Should this not be around 300, am I getting confused with PPI or is it because I'm trying to print too large ?

Hmmm, If I drop the size down to 24" x 16" it goes up to 196DPI. Is that just something that happens when you increase the size or is because of the way I have exported the picture from lightroom ? It was a RAW exported to JPEG at 300PPI

Just an update dudes. Ordered at around 9:50am yesterday morning as per my last post here, I went for 24" x 16" on "satin poster paper" don't know why I picked that, didn't really understand what was different, it was probably one of the cheaper options.

It came to £17.78 - the print was about £10.80 then £3.99 postage and then VAT added on. This was still 2 quid cheaper than Snappy Snaps in my town quoted.

I don't know where DS colour labs are based, but I'm in Northern Ireland and it came this morning and its stunning.

I feel this picture doesn't do it justice but I wanted to enclose something to give anybody that's looking to get a print done an idea. I've owned my DSLR for a nearly 2 years now and this is the first image I had printed.

Thanks for all the help

Right I'm back and in another pickle haha.

I've been overwhelmed by friends and family asking for prints of this photo. So only happy to sort them out (having a photo I took on display in someones house can hardly be a bad thing). I decided to get some more printed.

Without thinking, I ordered 18"x12" prints in keeping with the 3x2 ratio. My thinking was I'll just give them the print and they can go about getting it framed or whatever.

I was planing to get them cardboard photo folders you can get in order to give them to the said people(like a temporary frame). Turns out 18"x12" is a bit of an awkward size as its more of a poster size than a photo size and I can't find a form of keeping the print protected.

Any Ideas of what I could get? like some sort of slip of something just to keep it safe
