Getting Annoyed with My Photo Printer

My Epson Stylus Photo RX620 won't let me print something in greyscale, just because one of the other five colour cartridges is empty. This just seems ridiculous and completely annoying. So:

1) If anyone has a workaround through the print software, which just tells me ink out in the one cartridge and won't let me print, let me know.

2) Recommend me a simple black only printer that is easy to use and reliable and just gets a simple print job done time after time!

i dont know a work around with the software but i have gone to a laser printer and have never looked back

There is no work around for the 620. You have to have colour in all cartridges to print.

You could buy a chip resetter to reset the cartridge to full and then use the 20% of ink that normally remains in the 'empty' cartridge. But a better option is to buy new cartridges.
